The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art.
We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art.
This palette was truly one of my firsts, made before even my first uploaded palette on this website. It was of course before I knew what 1.5 bit was, and was inspired by 3 braided cloth strings/ribbons of the same colors. Oldest date I have for it is June 2023, I forgot when I exactly made it maybe before that point though.

Inspired by the cga red/green/yellow palette but softer and warmer, perfect for dark, moody scenes. Meant to be used as 1-bit, 1.5-bit, or 2-bit. A companion to my Neon Moonlight palette.

1bit monitor glow - a bold, punchy 1-bit palette by Polyducks for making art with two colours. A mildly cyan black with a mildly green white - the contrast helps the colours ping.

Noire truth is a 1-bit palette that asks questions. Questions like why are you not using Noire truth yet. The white is stained with your afternoon coffee; the blue-black is the combination of your two favourite pen inks. You mixed them to save the time of choosing. you need to save all the time you can. After all, you want to retire soon, right?

Sampled from a genuine Apple Macintosh CRT in 2021, it uses the light blue and faded black to carry 1bit art in the closest you can get to looking at an Apple Macintosh screen's colours without sitting in front of one. Take note that the colours are sampled from a daylight photograph of actual hardware then manually adjusted to best match the image, and is thus a representation of how the art displays as opposed to how it's recorded in software (which definitely would've been true black or white). Anyone has permission to use this palette for any purpose.

A very simple 4 colour palette. I use the dark and bright colours for main 1-bit structures and the blue/teal and orange for accents

My second try at 1-bit palettes. Unlike Nostalgi2 (another palette of mine) which was desaturated, this palette goes the opposite way, focusing on pastel colors by having a bright gray and saturated white. Now you can truly go for a soft look in your 1-bit art.

A ship drifting along the horizon. - by

This is the same image used as an example in Polyducks’s Mac Paint Palette. It’s a remix of the Mac Paint interface and Susan Kare's 1bit Geisha, which was shipped alongside Mac Paint and famously used to promote its potential as an art program.
